15th DOCS AGAINST GRAVITY will take place in FIVE major Polish cities (Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdynia, Bydgoszcz, Lublin ) in the same time, between May 10-25, 2018. Program of "The Weekend with Docs Against Gravity" of 8 films will be screened in another 22 cities and towns between May 18-20. Over 80 foreign filmmakers will meet the festival audience. 3 cinemas in Warsaw ( 5-2-2 screens), 1 in Lublin (2 screens), 1 in Wroclaw ( 3 screens), 1 in Gdynia (3 screens) and 1 in Bydgoszcz will present 130 films. We plan to organize 55 events: panel discussions, workshops, film literacy meetings, concerts, There will be 16 competition sections: Millennium Award, the main competition; Fiction/non-fiction for the best film on a boundary of genres, Amnesty International Award (the only festival in Poland with this Award), Warsaw Green Award (the only such fim competition in Poland), Chopin Nose Award for the best film on Art, Inter-generation Jury Award, Psychology Film Award (Same but different) , NEW! competition for Virtual Reality Films presented in 3 cities and competition for films o architecture and one Audience Award for all four cities . There are also awards given by Local Juries and sponsored by local authorities to the best film in the main competition screened in all five cities: Lower Silesia Film Award in Wroclaw, Gdynia City Hall Award, Culture Cross Point Award in Lublin and Bydgoszcz's Annex Award. Focus Monthly gives an award for "the personality of the festival" related to film on Science an Future. New section Quo Vadis Europe?, Masterclass of Barbet Schroeder and Mads Brugger will top the program. Akademia Dokumentalna will provide screenings with discussions for school pupils, teachers, parents with children and senior audience in four cities Major Polish media will report from the festival daily.
